ACE New England Region News – 6/19/11 – Regional Rep Changes
New England Region ACE Members and Friends –
I wanted to let you all know that, as of July 1, I will be stepping down as the New England ACE Regional Rep. This decision has been a difficult one to make, as I have enjoyed my years as the region\’s representative. However, increasing demands on my time both at work and with my family
have kept me from doing as good a job as I would like to do as Rep. I will offer to stay on as an Assistant Rep if I can help in that capacity.
I am honored to introduce our region\’s new Regional Rep, Rus Ozana. Rus joined ACE in 1993 and has been a very active member in the club both within the region an on a national level. He has shared his good-natured enthusiasm at many an event. Regionally, he has volunteered to help out in many ways, including assisting with registrations, shopping for door prizes and organizing the New England Dispatch circulation team. On a national level, he recently ran for the position of Secretary, and he now serves as editor of ACE News Now. Because of these activities and others, Rus was selected as the winner of this year\’s New England Region Spirit Award. Rus is a great asset to the region and to ACE as a whole, and I am certain you will find him to be an excellent Regional Rep.
I have enjoyed representing all of the New England ACE members and appreciate your support over the years. I hope you will offer the same support to Rus as your new Regional Rep.
Thank you all,
Peg

If you\’re not riding Untamed on June 11, here\’s another option for you in NJ:
Greetings ACE New Jersey members and friends, Save the dates of June 11-12, 2011 as the biggest party in ACE is happening in New Jersey that weekend! We\’ll be celebrating the 15^th anniversary of *Coaster Celebration*, the popular park planned event at *Six* *Flags Great Adventure* featuring ERT on all 5 B&M coasters (the first for any park in the world) including the all new /Green Lantern/ on June 11^th . Then on June 12^th , we\’re taking the party to Seaside Heights, not at Karma or Bamboo with Snooki or The Situation, but at *Casino Pier*! We\’ll be celebrating the 5^th Anniversary of ACE NJ\’s *Seaside Screams* with the biggest and best installment of this thrilling and innovative event. June 11, 2011
This year\’s *Coaster Celebration* event at *Six Flags Great Adventure* is called B&M Bash and for good reason! There is no other park in the world where you can ride FIVE different B&M coasters and certainly no where else can you get this much B&M ERT! Featuring morning ERT on the all new /Green Lantern/ and /Superman: Ultimate Flight/, a rare while-the-park-is-open ERT on /Bizarro/ and the always unforgettable night ERT on /Nitro/ and /Batman The Ride/. You can download the registration flyer here:
http://www.aceonline.org/fliers/CoasterCelebration2011.pdf

And if this is not enough, our friends to the west, Dorney Park in Allentown, PA, will be hosting their annual Coaster Madness event on Friday, June 10^th . So come out a day early and enjoy some very exclusive ERT on their great coaster line-up. Details have yet to be announced but please contact the park for more info. You do not need to

ACE New England News April 16, 2011
Hello, ACE New England Region Members and Friends!
Spring is warming up, and I have quite a few messages to pass on to you. Take your time and enjoy scrolling through them all!
===============================================
*** We have a new regional website! Check it out at http://www.acenewengland.org/ ***
Bob Bussiere, who created and maintained ACE New England\’s very first, prize-winning regional website, has had to step down as our webmaster. We thank him for his years of dedicated service to ACE!
The position of webmaster has been taken over by Pete Flaherty. Pete has worked tirelessly to completely redesign and upgrade the website, including a mobile version. We think you\’ll like the results! There are articles, photos, park and coaster info, a calendar of events, copies of past email blasts and issues of the New England Dispatch, useful links, and more.
While Pete put tremendous effort into the design, structure, and content of the new site, there is still more that can be done, and we could use your assistance! Pete could use some co-editors to help with the narratives of the coaster posts, and also the same for the parks. What he\’s trying to accomplish is a description of the general feel and what makes these parks and rides unique, not just what you could find elsewhere online. Pictures are needed too!
Please contact Pete directly (pjf@cape.com) if want to contribute to the website, offer suggestions, or just give some feedback. Enjoy!

From the New Jersey ACE Region:
Good afternoon ACE NJ members and friends,
If you haven\’t heard, the New Jersey region of ACE is co-hosting this year\’s opening day event at Knoebels. Why ACE New Jersey? Well, typically ACE regions to do not host or co-host events outside of their own region but there is historic significance to the 2011 season that has its routes in New Jersey. This year, Knoebels resurrects yet another classic coaster- the dark ride/ coaster hybrid /Golden Nugget Mine Ride/ that once thrilled kids and adults alike on the defunct Hunt\’s Pier in Wildwood! To be known as /Black Diamond/, the Knoebels version takes on a new theme with stunts ranging from modern to classic and an entirely closed 3rd floor. So, with permission by the ACE Regional Rep Director and blessing of the Central PA region of ACE, we are partnering with DAFE (Darkride and Funhouse Enthusiasts) to bring you \”The Making of a Diamond\” on*Saturday, April 30th*!
Unfortunately, /Black Diamond/ is not yet ready to debut but we\’re anticipating an exclusive opportunity to tour this ride as construction comes to close to completing plus there will be an hour of ERT on the legendary /Phoenix/ as well as lunch! Later in the summer, the Central PA region of ACE will be hosting an event that we\’re certain will afford members the opportunity to finally ride what should be an instant classic. ACE NJ will keep you posted on that event!
If you wish to attend DAFE and ACE NJ presents \”The Making of a Diamond\”, you only have up until *April 15th* to put your registrations in the mail, so hurry!
To download the flyer and registration form, go here:
http://acenewjerseycom.ipage.com/ace/docs/knoebels-april2011r3.pdf
Spread the word and we hope to see you at Knoebels for opening day and \”The Making of a Diamond\” in just a few weeks!
