Quassy To Open June 20
To:

*Quassy Amusement & Waterpark*

*Is Slated To Open June 20*

MIDDLEBURY, Conn. – Quassy Amusement & Waterpark here will kick off its
2020 season on Saturday, June 20, Quassy officials have announced. The
park’s traditional April opening was delayed due to the coronavirus
(COVID-19) outbreak.

The iconic lakeside property will operate under COVID-19 mandates issued
by the State of Connecticut, which include social distancing in queue lines
for rides and limiting daily attendance to less than normal capacity. The
park will require that all guests wear facemasks while on the property.

The state mandates as well as guest guidelines and responsibilities when
visiting the park may be downloaded from the top of the home page at
www.quassy.com and will also be shared via Quassy’s social media.

“These have been challenging times for everyone,” noted park President
Eric Anderson. “We have been working diligently with state officials as
well as our industry associations to achieve criteria for reopening. We’re
certainly pleased that we can finally welcome guests.”

*Buy Online, Come Early*

The Quassy official pointed out that visitors will be encouraged to
purchase tickets online and arrive at the park early the day of their visit.

“Making online purchases will help ease congestion at the ticket booth
and arriving early may be in your best interest with the capacity cap,”
Anderson added.

In addition, Quassy will be processing 2020 season passes two weekends
prior to the June 20 opening. The season pass office adjacent to the
parking lot will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., June 6-7 and 13-14 (Saturdays
and Sundays).

Park officials have issued the following guidelines for pre-opening
season pass processing:

• When parking, leave an empty space between you and next
vehicle.

• Two families – facemasks required – will be permitted in the
season pass office at a time.

• Please remain in an orderly line outside of the office with six
feet of distance between you and the guests in front of and behind you.

*Patience And Guidelines*

“We really want to stress that guests will need to be patient and follow
the guidelines when visiting. We’ll have queue lines for the rides marked
with distancing gaps and arrows along walkways for traffic flow,” Anderson
asserted. “Of course, there will be park-wide sanitation procedures done by
our staff and hand sanitizer available for guest use. Seating outside the
restaurant will also be set up to achieve the social distancing mandates.
Cooperation will go a long way in helping us operate during this phase of
our re-opening.”

The rides, Splash Away Bay waterpark and Quassy Beach will be operating
when the park opens for the season.

However, the redemption arcade, Bella & Bessie’s Sweet Shoppe and Dog
House hot dog stand will not be open during this phase of the state’s plan.
Food and beverages will be available at Quassy Restaurant, Splash Away Bay
Café, Ice Cream Parlor, fried dough stand and pizza stand.

The park also announced that its traditional July 4th fireworks display
has been canceled.

*About Quassy*

Quassy Amusement Park & Waterpark is in its 112th year and features more
than two dozen rides and attractions.

Rides include the award-winning Wooden Warrior roller coaster, Reverse
Time, Frantic, Music Fest, Yo-Yo super swings, Free Fall ‘N’ Drop Tower and
Grand Carousel.

Splash Away Bay waterpark has dozens of ways to get drenched on warm
summer days, including 15 slides, Saturation Station modular play area and
a splash pad for toddlers.

Season passes are on sale now at the park office and through the Quassy
website at www.quassy.com.

Quassy is located at 2132 Middlebury Road, Route 64, in Middlebury,
Conn., on the shores of Lake Quassapaug.

–30—

With logo and photos

*Great Rides*

Quassy Amusement & Waterpark will open Saturday, June 20, for the 2020
season after remaining closed due to the coronavirus (COVID19) crisis.
