I\\’ve asked his
\nfamily for a few words on Allen\\’s \\”coaster life\\” (his
\nfavorite coasters, parks, etc.). If you knew Allen, please feel free
\nto share
\nwith me any words or stories you have for him. I\\’d like
\nto get something in
\ntime for the next issue of ACE News.<\/p>\n

\nLouis Beavers Jr. of West Hartford, passed away on Thursday, May 31
\nat the age of 82. Allen was born on May 26, 1930 in Scranton, PA to his<\/p>\n
\nremembers Allen
\nfor his zest for life, helping others, working on a
\nbuilding project,
\ncrisscrossing the country in his truck, driving
\nhis motor patrol car, documenting
\neverything in photographs, and of
\ncourse riding roller coasters. We will
\nalways remember his positive
\noutlook on life and his ability to make friends
\nwherever he went.
\nAllen graduated from Bliss Electrical School in
\nWashington, DC then
\nserved in the US Army Security Agency during the_Korean War_
\n(http:\/\/www.legacy.com\/memorial-sites\/korean-war\/?personid=157923748&affiliateID
\n=124) after which he continued his education at Boston University
\nwhere
\nhe received his Master\\’s Degree. Allen was actively involved
\nwith many
\norganizations including the Harford Lions Club, Masons,
\nDeMolay, Shriners,
\nGovernors Tourism Council, ARVC, Camp Fire Girls
\nand more. Allen spent his
\nentire life caring for and giving to
\nothers. His long career was devoted to
\nyouth camps and recreational
\ncamping. He was the Exec. Dir. of YMCA Camp
\nJewell, President and
\nCEO of the CT Campground Owners Assoc., President of New
\nEngland
\nCamping Assoc. and spent years as a consultant to the camping
\nindustry having a profound impact throughout the country. Allen was
\npredeceased by
\nhis wife Cynthia whom he married in 1960. Allen is
\nsurvived by his
\ndaughter Cyndi and her husband Roy Maston, his
\ngranddaughters Alyssa, Bailee and
\nShelby and his son Scott and wife
\nPatricia. They all love and will miss him
\nvery much!

\nand friends will gather to honor and remember Allen\\’s life on
\nWednesday, June 6 at 11 a.m. for a Memorial Service at the West
\nHartford United
\nMethodist Church, 1358 New Britain Ave. West
\nHartford. In lieu of flowers,
